Welcome to the Expanded Public Works Support Programme.
 
The Expanded Public Works Support Programme (the Support Programme) was a joint initiative between the Department of Public Works and the Business Trust. Its goal was to support the implementation of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) by undertaking focused and prioritized programmes, which seek to maximize the achievement of the EPWP’s targets.

The Expanded Public Works Support Programme was a five year initiative that ended on the 31 March 2010. This website sets out the work undertaken and the lessons learnt by the programme over the five years.

The South African Department of Public Works aims to promote the government's objectives of economic development, good governance and rising living standards and prosperity by providing and managing the accommodation, housing, land and infrastructure needs of national departments, by promoting the national Expanded Public Works Programme and by encouraging the transformation of the construction and property industries.

 
  Business Trust logo  

The Business Trust combines the resources of Business and Government in areas of common interest to accelerate the achievement of national objectives. It focuses on creating jobs, building capacity and combating poverty. The Trust was established in 1999, financed by South Africa’s leading companies and governed by a board of business and government leaders.
